Next VAF meeting

Cancelled due to COVID19

Dear VAF Member,

The Victorian Automotive Forum (VAF) is a long standing automotive industry network essential for providing professional development to Victorian automotive teachers. On an annual basis we provide three multi-day automotive forums hosted by Victorian Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s).

The Committee of Management has been working with partnering TAFE’s to plan this year’s forums, to be held at Kangan Institute on April 23rd and 24th,  Canberra Institute in July and GippsTAFE in November.

Due to the recent events our (Victorian) institutes are working closely with the Department of Education (DET) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to take us through the challenges from the COVID-19 matter.

As you may have seen, our Premier announced that the current restrictions are set to continue for another four weeks as part of extending the State of Emergency in Victoria until 11 May 2020.

The Committee of Management decision in regards to 2020 forums has concluded that the April forum / AGM will now be cancelled, and moved to mid-year (date to be announced), and will still take place at Kangan Institute, Docklands.

The proposed mid-year forum in Canberra will not be going ahead in 2020 and we will continue to work with Canberra Institute in planning for 2021. Based upon this scenario and the optimistic view that we commence the journey back to normal TAFE delivery, our intent will be to host the mid-year AGM and then a second forum in November at GippsTAFE.

The Victorian Automotive Forum members are key to the success and longevity of the VAF and during these unprecedented times the Committee of Management will ensure that this forum is restored to a safe and productive level as quickly as possible.

During this short break we encourage all members to stay in touch, support each other, and in the best interest of Automotive training continue to share, collaborate and excel.

We also encourage you all to stay connected on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Victorian-Automotive-Forum-158951567507500/  and through the VAF website http://victorianautomotiveforum.org/

From all of us, please stay safe, provide the best automotive online experience available, and we look forward to catching up again later in the year.

Regards

Adrian Lea
